Orton, who claimed that SmackDown Live made $5 million in 11 shows
as part of WWE's recently concluded tour of Europe, is the antithesis
of everything that is independent wrestling, which prides itself on more
rebellious, punk-rock values.
Twitter couldn't have found a better antagonist
for the underdogs of the underground. Orton is one of a small handful of
talents who seem under qualified for the blanket term of WWE Superstar.
If pro wrestling were the Kentucky Derby, he would be Secretariat's
grandson.
Independent wrestling promotions separate
themselves from WWE through more high-octane matches that feature a
series of impressive strikes, aerial stunts and, of course, dives.
