14 persons have been killed in a fresh attack in the Southern part of Kaduna State, reports say.
The
attack is said to have occurred on Monday, February 20, in Mifi and
Ashim communities in the Kaura Local Government Area, according to
Leadership.
The deaths have reportedly been confirmed by Local Government Chairman, Alex Iya and state lawmaker, Dr. Yakubu Bityong who represents Kaura constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The names of the deceased have been given as: Chayuwai Manti, 73, Ezekiel Kanwai, 23, Bridget Aba, 61, Bridget Samuila 42, Samuila Kuzamam 47, Matthew Daniel 37, Edward Matthew 10, Omega
Matthew 8, Adam Noga, 46, Moses Ndong, 68, Likita Adam, 12, Musa John, 13, Mboi Waje, 14 and Fidelix Kakah.
The killings in the Southern Kaduna area have been blamed on Fulani herdsmen.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said that his government will prosecute every one found guilty of perpetrating the attacks.
El-Rufai
also admitted to paying some herdsmen compensation to stop the attacks
adding that his government had run out of options.
